Referee Resources
Want To Be A Referee?
You've played the game, and now you have the opportunity to join a new team, one that wears yellow uniforms with black stripes. Becoming a referee is easy!
Take a class; pass an exam; and you can qualify to start working youth games in recreational and competitive leagues.
There are three very good reasons to become a referee:
1) Make Money Participating In A Sport You Love.
Fees for games range anywhere from $10 to $80 per game, depending on the league and age level. Gain experience and in time you will qualify to work more challenging and higher-paying games.
2) Be Your Own Boss.
Referees are assigned to games only when they are available. As a referee, you are free to work as many or as few games as you like.
3) Learn Life Skills.
These refereeing skills will help you in life: Communication, Time & People Management, and Decision-Making Under Pressure. Many players find that refereeing makes them better players.
