Kyle Froberg - Assistant Coach, URI Men’s Soccer
Kyle Froberg joined Gareth Elliott’s coach staff in February of 2016, beginning his second stint as an assistant with the Rams. Froberg – who will work with the team’s goalkeepers – also served as an assistant on Ed Bradley’s staff for five seasons from 1998-2002. Additionally, he played for the Rams from 1992-96 and was Rhode Island's Freshman Athlete of the Year in 1992. After sitting out a redshirt season with an injury, he came back to help Rhode Island reach back-to-back NCAA tournaments in 1995 and 1996. The ’96 team won both the Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament titles. |
George Kostelis - Associate Head Coach, URI Women’s Soccer
In 2017, George Kostelis was named Associate Head Women's Soccer Coach at URI. Prior to his time at URI, Kostelis spent time coaching at Southern Connecticut State, Western Connecticut State, Yale University, the University of Connecticut, and the University of Hartford. Coach Kostellis also serves as the GK coach for NPSL 2017 Champions, Elm City. He holds a US Soccer Federation A License, a NSCAA Premier Diploma and a US Soccer Federation National Youth Coaching License. Kostelis serves as a National Staff Instructor for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's goalkeeping academy, and staffs for the US Youth Soccer's Region 1 Boys Olympic Development Program. Since 2000, he has been the owner of GK Soccer Training in Cromwell, CT. From 1990 to 2004, he directed camps for the SoccerPlus Goalkeeper School and was their National Director from 2005-2009. The West Hartford native enjoyed a decorated collegiate playing career at University of Hartford before earning a degree in Human Services in 1993. He was inducted in the Hawks' Alumni Hall of Fame in 2007. Following graduation, he played professionally in Greece for Aiolikos FC from 1993 - 1995. |
