SCYSC Coaching Overview
To achieve these goals, the organization launched the SCYSC Coaching Education Program in November 2016, combining external diploma/certification programs with ongoing in-house training. Coaches are encouraged to pursue licensing and diploma award programs and this knowledge is supplemented by sessions offered to club members.

South County Youth Soccer Club (SCYSC) benefits almost exclusively on the goodwill and support of parent-volunteer coaches. We welcome individuals with a passion for teaching children soccer to register their interest in coaching by completing a coaching application. Previous playing and coaching experience is beneficial but not required.
Integral to the success and longevity of SCYSC is the performance of the coaching team. No doubt, coaches are the club’s most important asset and our level of success is correlated to the coaching team’s performance. Without competent coaching even the best organized player development program will not realize the intended outcomes for player performance and engagement. Before it is possible to raise the level of player performance we must firstly establish reasonable expectations and commitment from the coaches.
