NEFC South Elite Teams
Quick Facts:
Playing Up and Trying Out for an Older Team (Policy for Travel) Players must tryout with the age appropriate team – no exceptions. If evaluators believe a player is truly outstanding (mainly a subjective decision) and will benefit from playing with older players, the Director of Coaching and Player Development may recommend a second tryout with an older team. Permanent Play-Up (Policy for Travel) Temporary play-ups are encouraged for appropriately skilled and physically competent players. Player-pass opportunities enable the club to satisfy a player's individual development needs and maintain the integrity of the age group team. Permanent play-ups out of an age group will rarely be considered (example: a younger player evaluates as the most competent player in the older age group). Such circumstances will be adjudicated on a case by case basis by the Program Director, coaches, and the club. |
"Tryouts for NEFC/Boston Breakers South County ElitE teams for the 2017-18 season are held in June.

As you read the list of characteristics of our program, you will notice some distinct differences between our club and others.
- High Level Coaching – Invariably, our coaches are dedicated to one elite team or age group and will continue to coach the age group for many seasons.
- High Level Teams – Elite soccer is a significant step up from competitive soccer and offers the highest ability players an opportunity to test themselves in the top leagues.
- A & B Teams – We seek elite level performers excelling in competitive soccer. We do not take on players to fill rosters or to hit financial objectives.
- Playing Time – Typically, players in our Junior (U8) and Blue Academy programs (U9-U12) are guaranteed at least 50% of playing time. We don’t select players unless we intend to play them.
- South County is a non-profit organization. We cover the expense of running a team and therefore reduce costs significantly so we can make elite more affordable.
- Year-round schedule – A feature of participating in Premier level soccer is year-round opportunities to learn and play. Our teams train and play August to June.
- Balance in Life, School and Sport – We value and appreciate the importance of balance. Many of our top players are multi-sport athletes, participate in school arts programs and enjoy being with family.
- Innovative education – Our coaches dedicate significant time planning and teaching, and we use a variety of methods, including video, classroom education sessions and providing homework for players and parents to work on together.
- Player assessment – Evaluating and providing feedback about the development of players is an important feature of the coach-parent relationship.
