Soccer in Rhode Island is typically organized Fall-Winter Spring - the 'soccer year'. Some South County Youth Soccer Club (SCYSC) programs operate seasonally and others for the soccer year. Winter 2016/17 Individual and Team Based Training:
SCYSC offers opportunities for players born in 2003-2010 to participate in individual training programs between November and March. Additionally, participants on RI SuperLiga and NEFC teams will have team training sessions. Click here to learn more.

Winter/Spring 2016/2017 - U8-U12 RI SuperLiga Travel (Competitive) Teams:
U8-U12* Competitive teams were selected in June 2016 and commitments made to players/families for Fall 2016 - Spring 2017. SCYSC does offer a midyear player assessment session for individuals currently not participating on a SCYSC Competitive Team that would like to be evaluated as a Competitive Player. Players selected to a Competitive Team in June for Fall 2016 - Spring 2017 will not be displaced on a team and are encouraged to attend the sessions. Teams that have roster space, may add players from the midyear player assessments and other teams may decide to add training players if a roster is full. Winter/Spring 2016/2017 - U13-U18 RI SuperLiga Teams:
Some Competitive U13/U14 teams were selected in June 2016 and commitments made to players/families for Fall/Winter/Spring seasons. Many other teams U14+ are formed in November due to player’s participation in Middle School and High School Soccer. SCYSC will offer two tryouts – June and November. No player selected in June will be removed from the competitive program and new teams will be formed participation numbers permitting - Click here for more information.

Financial Assistance & College Scholarships
South County Youth Soccer Club offers financial assistance and annual college scholarships to outstanding members. These programs are supported by sponsorship and volunteer efforts at our annual Seaside Classic Tournament.

Commencing for the Fall 2016 season, Soccer RI and RI SuperLiga adopted age grouping mandates legislated by US Soccer (the governing body). Players are now organized by their birth year and age groups correlate to the following 'under (U)' groupings for the 2016-2017 soccer year (August '16 to July '17):
