Print this Article Written by: Andy Curtis Sunday, June 28, 2009South County Youth Soccer Club and the state of Rhode Island will be represented this weekend at the Inaugural National President's Cup in the U-15 boy’s category by the South County Clippers. The Clippers will go to New Hampshire this weekend to play PRESIDENT'S CUP Champions from Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. The winner at this regional goes on to Delaware in two weeks for the REGION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP and the winners there go on to the National Championship in Raleigh. The Clippers went into the STATE FINALS two weeks ago as the number one seed and lost to a very good Black Watch team. Black Watch moves on to West Virginia for July Fourth and the Clippers move on to the PRESIDENT'S CUP. The Clippers are coached by coaches Berard, Curtis, Gulla and Lavallee . Players on this team represent numerous high schools and towns through out the state with a majority coming from the Southern part of the state. This team has played in the MAPS COLLEGE SHOWCASE in March, and was a semi finalist at the NIKE PREMIER over the Memorial Day weekend. The Clippers play as two teams with 36 players participating in the U-16 SUPER LIGA A division where both teams have been consistently at the top of the leader board. GO SOUTH!!!
