The game was close with a 1-0 lead at the half with South dominating the midfield. The Warren defense held up well despite repeated attempts by the South front line.
During the season the Sharks had lost their only game to Warren. Coach Najih Lazar told the girls at the half to play like it was a 0-0 game in the second half. Before long, with some great passing and ball control on offense the score was 3-0 South and they coasted to the finish. Excellent defense and goal tending helped South maintain a shutout in the final minutes.
The Sharks are preparing to win again this weekend in the Rhode Island Cup with a semi final match against a powerful Warwick FF team on Saturday at 5:00 at Deerfield Park in Smithfield, RI.
